Abba: "The Visitors"

What a song this is. People with anxiety sure relate to the fear of somebody at their door. I certainly feel anxious at Halloween as I don't want to promote evil through celebrating it.

Listen to this song here.

Halloween, for many, is just for fun. But spiritism is a dangerous thing to mess with. As Isaiah 8:19 (Bible in Basic English) reminds us, "And when they say to you, 'Make request for us to those who have control of spirits, and to those wise in secret arts, who make hollow bird-like sounds;' is it not right for a people to make request to their gods, to make request for the living to the dead?"

We ought to pray for the salvation of such deluded people who want to lead us astray. Look at what Proverbs 28:10 (BBE) says about their fait. "Anyone causing the upright to go wandering in an evil way, will himself go down into the hole he has made; but the upright will have good things for their heritage."

xFurthermore, it's for our protection that we mustn't play with wicked spirits through the Ouija board, tarot cards, and by visiting fortune tellers. As God told his people through Moses in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (BBE), "Let there not be seen among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter go through the fire, or anyone using secret arts, or a maker of strange sounds, or a reader of signs, or any wonder-worker, Or anyone using secret force on people, or putting questions to a spirit, or having secret knowledge, or going to the dead for directions. For all who do such things are disgusting to the Lord; and because of these disgusting things the Lord your God is driving them out before you."

But some folks will say that playing with the Ouija board is just a game. Oh? Look at Leviticus 19:31 (BBE). "Do not go after those who make use of spirits, or wonder-workers; do not go in their ways or become unclean through them: I am the Lord your God."

Let our visitors be those beloved siblings in Christ who follow him. We read this in 1 John 1:6 and 7 (BBE). "If we say we are joined to him, and are walking still in the dark, our words are false and our acts are untrue: But if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, we are all united with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us clean from all sin."

If our beloved Master hasn't visited us by Monday, I hope to post about a science fiction song from a group not known for that genre of music.

René Halkett & David J (BAUHAUS): "Nothing"

What a strange song this is. It's hard to imagine no matter, no energy, and no anything. Unfortunately, this track is no longer on YouTube.

There was a time before anything in creation existed. Paul wrote about this time and how things had been planned out in 1 Corinthians 2:7 (Bible in Basic English). "But we give the news of the secret wisdom of God, which he had kept in store before the world came into existence, for our glory;"

We also read how we were chosen before creation by the Lord. Ephesians 1:4-6 (BBE) explains, "Even as he made selection of us in him from the first, so that we might be holy and free from all evil before him in love: As we were designed before by him for the position of sons to himself, through Jesus Christ, in the good pleasure of his purpose, To the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely gave to us in the Loved One..."

We likewise learn the purpose for our creation in Ephesians 2:10 (BBE). "For by his act we were given existence in Christ Jesus to do those good works which God before made ready for us so that we might do them."

We also understand that there was a time before creation, which is mentioned in Titus 1:1 and 2 (BBE). "Paul, a servant of God, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, in agreement with the faith of the saints of God and the full knowledge of what is true in harmony with religion, In the hope of eternal life, which was made certain before eternal time, by the word of God who is ever true;"

And lest any one think that only Paul taught the doctrine of Christ's pre-existence, 1 Peter 1:20 and 21 (BBE) reads, "Who was marked out by God before the making of the world, but was caused to be seen in these last times for you, Who through him have faith in God who took him up again from the dead into glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God."

Likewise Revelation 17:8 (BBE) shows that we have our names written in God's book before he created anything. "The beast which you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the great deep, and to go into destruction. And those who are on the earth, whose names have not been put in the book of life from the first, will be full of wonder when they see the beast, that he was, and is not, and still will be."

So if Christ hasn't returned for us by Saturday, I hope to post about how visitors can cause people anxiety.

Alice Cooper: "I'm Eighteen"

This shock rocker wasn't a mere singer. Many of his songs had a lot of thought put into them. This one is particularly relevant to that magic age when a boy morphs into a man. Hear it here:

Adulthood is difficult for a child to adjust to at first. That's why Paul said about spiritual maturity in 1 Corinthians 13:11 (Bible in Basic English), "When I was a child, I made use of a child's language, I had a child's feelings and a child's thoughts: now that I am a man, I have put away the things of a child."

We should also be glad to take responsibility as adults, even if it seems frightening. One great example of this is Jeremiah 1:6 and 7 (BBE). "Then said I, 'O Lord God! see, I have no power of words, for I am a child.' But the Lord said to me, 'Do not say, "I am a child:" for wherever I send you, you are to go, and whatever I give you orders to say, you are to say.'"

By the time we become adults, we should be able to assume the duties of an adult. Sadly, children these days don't have the beneficial correction of Proverbs 22:15 (BBE). "Foolish ways are deep-seated in the heart of a child, but the rod of punishment will send them far from him."

The God-given privilege of an adult is to raise a family. As Christ said in Matthew 19:5 (BBE), "For this cause will a man go away from his father and mother, and be joined to his wife; and the two will become one flesh?"

As adults, married men need the sacrificial maturity to provide for his family. Like Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:25 (BBE), "Husbands, have love for your wives, even as Christ had love for the church, and gave himself for it;"

Furthermore, work is where real consequences happen to lazy people. As Proverbs 10:5 (BBE) explains, "He who in summer gets together his store is a son who does wisely; but he who takes his rest when the grain is being cut is a son causing shame."

If Christ returns for his harvest by Thursday, I won't bother uploading my post about nothing.

Helen Reddy: "Angie Baby"

This was the follow-up song to "I Am Woman" which became a worldwide hit in 1972. Though this didn't chart as high, it still is a great fantasy-story song. Hear it here:

To the unbelieving world, the Bible is akin to fantasy. Historical events like the worldwide flood and the resurrection of Christ seem unbelievable. But God does things which the natural person can't credit.

The ten plagues of Egypt is just one example. I recall a scientist on a CBC science show claiming that each plague was a natural progression from the previous one.

This argument falls apart when the plague of darkness came upon Egypt. Those folks were used to sand storms but this was total blackness, as Exodus 10:21 (Bible in Basic English) shows. "And the Lord said to Moses, 'Let your hand be stretched out to heaven, and all the land of Egypt will be dark, so that men will be feeling their way about in the dark.' And when Moses' hand was stretched out, dark night came over all the land of Egypt for three days;"

Neither can supposedly-educated folks explain how the sun stood still in Joshua 10:12 and 13 (BBE). "It was on the day when the Lord gave up the Amorites into the hands of the children of Israel that Joshua said to the Lord, before the eyes of Israel, 'Sun, be at rest over Gibeon; and you, O moon, in the valley of Aijalon.' And the sun was at rest and the moon kept its place till the nation had given punishment to their attackers. (Is it not recorded in the book of Jashar?) So the sun kept its place in the middle of the heavens, and was waiting, and did not go down, for the space of a day."

Doubters also claim that the apostles made up the stories about Christ. But Peter wrote in 2 Peter 1:16 and 17 (BBE), "For when we gave you news of the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, our teaching was not based on stories put together by art, but we were eye-witnesses of his glory. For God the Father gave him honour and glory, when such a voice came to him out of the great glory, saying, 'This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.'"

If our hoped-for return of Jesus hasn't happened by Monday, I hope to feature a song about coming of age and its difficulties.

Nurse With Wound: "I Was No Longer His Dominant"

What a frightening and sombre piece this is. This British band used the voice of a psychiatrist to present the weirdness of that profession. If you're brave enough, listen to this music here:

One thing psychiatry can't explain is demon possession. In their worldly world view, it's some sort of psychosis.

But we Christians know better and so did Jesus. Matthew 9:32 and 33 (Bible in Basic English) shows how he easily healed people and cast out demons. "And while they were going away, there came to him a man without the power of talking, and with an evil spirit. And when the evil spirit had been sent out, the man had the power of talking: and they were all surprised, saying, 'Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.'"

That man never had to endure endless appointments or meetings with fake deliverance preachers.

Christ also knew who was insane and who was possessed. As Matthew 4:24 (BBE) plainly shows, "And news of him went out through all Syria; and they took to him all who were ill with different diseases and pains, those having evil spirits and those who were off their heads, and those who had no power of moving. And he made them well."

Nobody had to be psychoanalyzed either. Jesus knew each person's diagnosis and healed them accordingly.

Furthermore, the demons knew who Jesus was, and what he was, without being told. As Mark 5:6 and 7 (BBE) plainly shows, the demons were terrified of Christ. "And when he saw Jesus from far off, he went quickly to him and gave him worship; And crying out with a loud voice he said, 'What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God's name, do not be cruel to me.'" This poor man became Christ's first evangelist once he was freed of those devils.

And if our Lord hasn't arrived to cast all demons and the Devil into the lake of fire by Saturday, I hope to post about a woman who others thought was insane, or was she?

Redbone: "The Witch Queen of New Orleans"

This native American group had their first international hit with this song. It was the start of their rise to fame during the early seventies. Hear the song here:

Halloween is thought of by many as a time to dress up as witches, monsters, and other frightening things. What many folks fail to realize is that the Devil and his demons are real.

We see in Scripture how Christ healed physical ailments as well as casting out demons. Luke 8:1-3 (Bible in Basic English) tells us, "And it came about, after a short time, that he went through town and country giving the good news of the kingdom of God, and with him were the twelve, And certain women who had been made free from evil spirits and diseases, Mary named Magdalene, from whom seven evil spirits had gone out, And Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's chief house-servant, and Susanna and a number of others, who gave him of their wealth for his needs."

But along with Christ's kindness, we see how serious God was about witchcraft. Exodus 22:18 (BBE) bluntly states, "Any woman using unnatural powers or secret arts is to be put to death."

Furthermore, God gives his reason for such an extreme sentence in Leviticus 20:6 (BBE). "And whoever goes after those who make use of spirits and wonder-workers, doing evil with them, against him will my face be turned, and he will be cut off from among his people."

Notice too that whenever Israel forsook the Lord, they worshipped demons who pretended to be gods. As Deuteronomy 32:17 (BBE) states plainly, "They made offerings to evil spirits which were not God, to gods who were strange to them, which had newly come up, not feared by your fathers."

Is it any wonder then that God hates such monstrous wickedness? As Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 (BBE), "Keep from every form of evil."

If Christ hasn't come by Thursday, I'll feature a spooky spoken-word piece based on a psychiatrist's report.

Rez: "80,000 Underground"

This Christian metal band released a fair number of albums during the eighties, much to the delight of Christian rock fans like me. This song is about how a shopping mall was built on a paupers' graveyard. Check it out here.

A time will come when graveyards won't be quiet. As Jesus foretold in John 5:28 and 29 (Bible in Basic English), "Do not be surprised at this: for the time is coming when his voice will come to all who are in the place of the dead, And they will come out; those who have done good, into the new life; and those who have done evil, to be judged."

And make of this what you will. Matthew 27:52 and 53 (BBE) describes a sort of pre-resurrection event. "And the resting-places of the dead came open; and the bodies of a number of sleeping saints came to life; And coming out of their resting-places, after he had come again from the dead, they went into the holy town and were seen by a number of people."

Christ's resurrection is so important that we're commanded to proclaim the future judgement of all people. As Peter said in Acts 10:42 (BBE), "And he gave us orders to give news of this to the people, and to give public witness that this is he whom God has made judge of the living and the dead."

Look also at what Romans 14:10 (BBE) says about those siblings in the faith who wrongly judge us. "But you, why do you make yourself your brother's judge? or again, why have you no respect for your brother? because we will all have to take our place before God as our judge."

Wicked people scoff and they assume there won't be a judgement day. But God owns all humanity, as Ezekiel 18:4 (BBE) shows. "See, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so the soul of the son is mine: death will be the fate of the sinner's soul."

If the glorious resurrection hasn't happened by Monday, I'll share a song about a woman who became famous in New Orleans for her witchery.

Shakin' Stevens: "This Old House"

This rock 'n' roll revivalist artist had a hit in 1981 in England, though it didn't chart in North America. Even so, this is a great, old song done in authentic rockabilly style. Check it out here.

Various passages in the Bible refer to our bodies as dwellings. We read one example of this analogy in 2 Peter 1:13 and 14 (Bible in Basic English). "And it seems right to me, as long as I am in this tent of flesh, to keep your minds awake by working on your memory; For I am conscious that in a short time I will have to put off this tent of flesh, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me."

Likewise, Hebrews 9:11 and 12 (BBE) shows that Jesus' body was a tabernacle. "But now Christ has come as the high priest of the good things of the future, through this greater and better Tent, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this world, And has gone once and for ever into the holy place, having got eternal salvation, not through the blood of goats and young oxen, but through his blood."

Paul also likened our bodies as both dwelling places and clothing in 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 (BBE). "For we are conscious that if this our tent of flesh is taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in heaven. For in this we are crying in weariness, greatly desiring to be clothed with our house from heaven: So that our spirits may not be unclothed. For truly, we who are in this tent do give out cries of weariness, for the weight of care which is on us; not because we are desiring to be free from the body, but so that we may have our new body, and death may be overcome by life."

And as hard as this might be to imagine, we're God's home. As 2 Corinthians 6:16 (BBE) explains, we must be fit for him by being pure. "And what agreement has the house of God with images? for we are a house of the living God; even as God has said, 'I will be living among them, and walking with them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.'"

So if Christ hasn't come to give us our new bodies by Saturday, I'll tell you about a mall built on a graveyard.

Social Distortion: "Mommy's Little Monster"

This punk rock band made a lot of sense with this song. Some children do grow up wild and flout authority. If you're not afraid, listen to this live performance here.

These rebellious children are aptly described in Romans 1:28-32 (Bible in Basic English). "And because they had not the mind to keep God in their knowledge, God gave them up to an evil mind, to do those things which are not right; Being full of all wrongdoing, evil, desire for the goods of others, hate, envy, putting to death, fighting, deceit, cruel ways, evil talk, and false statements about others; Hated by God, full of pride, without respect, full of loud talk, given to evil inventions, not honouring father or mother, Without knowledge, not true to their undertakings, unkind, having no mercy: Who, though they have knowledge of the law of God, that the fate of those who do these things is death, not only go on doing these things themselves, but give approval to those who do them."

This might sound harsh to our modern ears but the type of kids mentioned in the song would have been put to death in Moses' time. Deuteronomy 21:18 (BBE) explains how seriously the Lord took rebellion. "If a man has a son who is hard-hearted and uncontrolled, who gives no attention to the voice of his father and mother, and will not be ruled by them, though they give him punishment: Then let his father and mother take him to the responsible men of the town, to the public place; And say to them, 'This son of ours is hard-hearted and uncontrolled, he will not give attention to us; he gives himself up to pleasure and strong drink.' Then he is to be stoned to death by all the men of the town: so you are to put away the evil from among you; and all Israel, hearing of it, will be full of fear."

I know that not all children grow up to be responsible adults. Even so, what Solomon said in Proverbs 22:6 (BBE) is generally true. "If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it."

Often times, these wild children need to suffer their consequences. In what people call the story of the prodigal son, Luke 15:17-19 (BBE) reads, "But when he came to his senses, he said, 'What numbers of my father's servants have bread enough, and more, while I am near to death here through need of food! I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have done wrong, against heaven and in your eyes: I am no longer good enough to be named your son: make me like one of your servants."'"

If Christ hasn't returned for his sometimes-prodigal children by Thursday, I hope to publish about a rock 'n' roll revivalist and our temporary bodies.

Spirit: "1984"

This band from Los Angeles paid homage to George Orwell's dystopian novel in this song. They also made a parody of the story about a place called Potato Land. Check this song out here:

Satan is always trying to sabotage God's plan. And like the first verse of "1984" says, he'll tell you darkness gives you much more than you get from the light.

We must always resist the Devil's lies and twisting of scripture, as 2 John 1:7 (Bible in Basic English) warns, "Because a number of false teachers have gone out into the world, who do not give witness that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Such a one is a false teacher and Antichrist."

Paul also warns his spiritual son, and us as well, to stay true to the teaching from Scripture. As 2 Timothy 3:13 (BBE) says, "Evil and false men will become worse and worse, using deceit and themselves overcome by deceit."

Worse yet, these agents of Satan pose as believers. :Like Jude 1:4 (BBE) warns, "For certain men have come among you secretly, marked out before in the holy Writings for this evil fate, men without the fear of God, turning his grace into an unclean thing, and false to our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ."

Paul also warned the elders from Ephesus in Acts 20:29 and 30 (BBE) about Satan's minions. "I am conscious that after I am gone, evil wolves will come in among you, doing damage to the flock; And from among yourselves will come men who will give wrong teaching, turning away the disciples after them."

Why does the Lord allow such people to infiltrate his church? Christ's parable of the tares and the wheat in Matthew 13:29 and 30 (BBE) explains why. "But he (the farmer) says, 'No, for fear that by chance while you take up the evil plants, you may be rooting up the grain with them. Let them come up together till the getting in of the grain; and then I will say to the workers, "Take up first the evil plants, and put them together for burning: but put the grain into my store-house."'"

If the good grain hasn't been separated and the tares burned by Monday, I'll post about little monsters but not the type showing up at front doors on the thirty-first.

The Who: "Too Much of Anything"

This is one song which wasn't originally on the Who's Next album. It's about sensory overload. Unlike machinery, we need variety to help us stay sane. Listen to this previously-unreleased track here.

Agur, the son of Jakeh, certainly knew about the danger of having abundance or lack. Proverbs 30:8 and 9 (Bible in Basic English) says, "Put far from me all false and foolish things: do not give me great wealth or let me be in need, but give me only enough food: For fear that if I am full, I may be false to you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' or if I am poor, I may become a thief, using the name of my God wrongly."

The Apostle Paul warned his prodigy, Timothy, about the dangers of greed in 1 Timothy 6:9 (BBE). "But those who have a desire for wealth are falling into danger, and are taken as in a net by a number of foolish and damaging desires, through which men are overtaken by death and destruction."

Likewise, too much food and slumber, rather than labour, impoverishes people. Proverbs 23:21 (BBE) warns us, "For those who take delight in drink and feasting will come to be in need; and through love of sleep a man will be poorly clothed."

Punishing somebody too much, even if that person deserved it, is also wrong. As Paul penned in 2 Corinthians 2:6 and 7 (BBE) about a certain church member, "Let it be enough for such a man to have undergone the punishment which the church put on him; So that now, on the other hand, it is right for him to have forgiveness and comfort from you, for fear that his sorrow may be over-great."

And as Hannah prayed in 2 Samuel 2:3 (BBE), talking proudly is foolish. "Say no more words of pride; let not uncontrolled sayings come out of your mouths: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, by him acts are judged."

Fortunately for us who believe in Christ, the happiness we'll feel when God lives with us will never be too much. Revelation 21:3 and 4 (BBE) is so encouraging to us in this age. "And there came to my ears a great voice out of the high seat, saying, 'See, the Tent of God is with men, and he will make his living-place with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them, and be their God. And he will put an end to all their weeping; and there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying, or pain; for the first things have come to an end.'"

If that ecstatic time hasn't arrived by Saturday, I hope I can post about a song inspired by a dystopian novel.

Helen Reddy: "You and Me Against the World"

Believe it or not, Paul Williams wrote this song as well as many other hits. He did record the songs he wrote but he never broke out with a hit. Listen to Helen's excellent rendition of this ballad here.

The closest analogy God could use to describe his nature to us is as a loving father. It's why Psalms 68:5 (Bible in Basic English) calls him, "A father to those who have no father, a judge of the widows, is God in his holy place."

And like a tender parent, God understands our weakness and helplessness. Psalm 103:13 and 14 (BBE) says, "As a father has pity on his children, so the Lord has pity on his worshippers. For he has knowledge of our feeble frame; he sees that we are only dust."

But tenderness doesn't mean laxity when it comes to discipline. Proverbs 3:11 and 12 (BBE) reminds us of that. "My son, do not make your heart hard against the Lord's teaching; do not be made angry by his training: For to those who are dear to him the Lord says sharp words, and makes the son in whom he has delight undergo pain."

We also can trust that whatever happens to us is for God's glory and our benefit. As Jesus said in Luke 11:11-13 (BBE) about his lavish care, "And which of you, being a father, will give a stone to his son, who makes request for bread? or for a fish, will give him a snake? Or for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If, then, you who are evil are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who make request to him?"

Though our heavenly Father seems distant at times from us, he still is there to help us through whatever we face. As Paul noted in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (BBE), "You have been put to no test but such as is common to man: and God is true, who will not let any test come on you which you are not able to undergo; but he will make with the test a way out of it, so that you may be able to go through it."

If Christ hasn't come by Monday, I expect I'll post about how pollution causes a slow death.

Nick Lowe: "Cruel to be Kind"

This hit from the early eighties demonstrates an important principle. There are times when a person has to give an errant loved one correction. It's no fun but it must be done. Listen to the song here.

To stop somebody from sinning, we must rebuke them with an attitude of love. As Leviticus 19:17 (Bible in Basic English) shows us, "Let there be no hate in your heart for your brother; but you may make a protest to your neighbour, so that he may be stopped from doing evil."

Of course there are folks who refuse to listen even to the kindest of objections. As Proverbs 9:8 (BBE) demonstrates, pompous people won't accept correction. "Do not say sharp words to a man of pride, or he will have hate for you; make them clear to a wise man, and you will be dear to him."

In fact, there are people who will praise you for setting them straight. Proverbs 24:24 and 25 (BBE) reminds us, "He who says to the evil-doer, 'You are upright,' will be cursed by peoples and hated by nations. But those who say sharp words to him will have delight, and a blessing of good will come on them."

Furthermore, Proverbs 27:5 (BBE) explains why we need to rebuke those we love. "Better is open protest than love kept secret."

A day will come when the Lord will correct the world. Isaiah 2:4, (BBE) prophesies, "And he will be the judge between the nations, and the peoples will be ruled by his decisions: and their swords will be turned into plough-blades, and their spears into vine-knives: no longer will the nations be turning their swords against one another, and the knowledge of war will be gone for ever."

If that wonderful day hasn't come by Thursday, I hope to tell you about the dangers of too much of anything.

Cat Stevens: "King of Trees"

Did you ever have a tree which was special to you? One tree at Jericho Hill School for the Deaf and Blind was precious to me. I liked sitting in its branches, surrounded by its amber leaves. It was balm for my lonely soul. I felt heartbroken when the school cut it down to make way for a sunken garden.

Listen to this song about a special tree here:

Trees figure prominently in the Bible. For example, we know about the tree of good and evil which Adam and Eve ate of its fruit. What many believers don't know is the reason for keeping our federal parents from the tree of life.

Imagine the horror of living forever in a sin-cursed body. That's what God saved humanity from when he said in Genesis 3:22 (Bible in Basic English). "And the Lord God said, 'Now the man has become like one of us, having knowledge of good and evil; and now if he puts out his hand and takes of the fruit of the tree of life, he will go on living for ever.'"

Jesus likened us to trees in Matthew 7:18 (BBE) in regard to our conduct. "It is not possible for a good tree to give bad fruit, and a bad tree will not give good fruit."

We also see in Daniel 4:13 (BBE) how God gave Nebuchadnezzar a prophetic dream about a giant tree. "In the visions of my head on my bed I saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven, Crying out with a loud voice; and this is what he said: 'Let the tree be cut down and its branches broken off; let its leaves be taken off and its fruit sent in every direction: let the beasts get away from under it and the birds from its branches: But keep its broken end and its roots still in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass; let him have the young grass of the field for food, and let him be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his part be with the beasts.'" This was fulfilled when the King praised himself for making his great city.

A day will come when Christ perfects us and makes us fit for the new Jerusalem. As Revelation 22:14 (BBE) promises, "A blessing on those whose robes are washed, so that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may go in by the doors into the town."

If our blessed Saviour hasn't come for us by Monday, I'll show how cruelty can be kind.
