What About the Things Jesus Never Mentioned?

As I pointed out previously, Jesus did address homosexuality, and all other marital relationships, during his earthly ministry. But some people like to find loopholes for their favourite sins while abhorring others.

Let's take pedophilia for example. Almost everybody is outraged and disgusted at Catholic priests and caregivers of vulnerable children who raped innocents. Yet, Jesus never mentioned that by name. How then can homosexuals, and non Christians in general, be outraged by buggery while excusing homosexuality? They're picking and choosing again, as I wrote before.

Jesus didn't mention a lot of sins by name, yet the standard of purity is clear. If we love each other as ourselves, we wouldn't sexually interfere with minors or do anything to psychologically damage them. Neither would we harm the ones we claim to love by lusting after them. Lust is inherently selfish and it doesn't care who gets hurt

So this argument of what Christ did or didn't mention by name is specious. The same is true of homosexuals claiming to love their partner. Like Tina Turner sang, "What's Love Got to do With It?". Any sexual relationship outside of marriage is wrong, case closed.

This topic will also be in my next book called You Think You're Going to Heaven? People say "love" but they really mean lust.

Is Homosexuality Inherited?

Now that I've opened the discussion of inherited sin, some folks might say that homosexuality and transgenderism are innate traits which are on par with physical attributes. If this is true, does it mean that homosexual and transgendered people can still be Christians?

According to the Bible, sinful behaviours are wrong and steadfast persistence in such conduct is an abomination. Leviticus 18:22 (KJV) clearly states, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

Some people might say that we're being choosy about the scriptures. They point out verses such as Leviticus 11:12 (KJV) which says, "Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you."

But aren't those folks being choosy themselves? There are six verses in the Bible about homosexuality but thousands about marriage. In fact, marriage is the standard upheld by all societies in the past, not just our western culture. Look at what Jesus himself, speaking to the religious leaders of his day, said about the matter in Matthew 19:5-6 (KJV) "And said, 'For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.'" This is a direct quote of Genesis 2:24.

By their own hypocritical selectivity of "clobber" scriptures, homosexual activists condemn themselves as being choosy as well as hypocritical.

I'll be writing more about the contradiction of the "homosexual Christian" in my next book called You Think You're Going to Heaven?

My thanks go to Voddie Baucham for inspiring me and informing all of us believers in Christ on this topic.

Are We Really Modern?

We twenty-first century folks seem to think we're so advanced. Past civilizations never dreamt of phones which could take pictures and videos. They never used the word "friend" as a verb. Neither could they store entire libraries of books or music on media which will only be read by machines for a limited time.

These social revolutions which people are all worked up about aren't modern either. Homosexuality, abortion, incest, rape, and adultery are almost as old as human kind.

Family violence isn't new either. In the very first family, Cain killed Abel in a fit of jealousy because God didn't accept his sacrifice. Read the third chapter of Genesis for the full story.

Neither is the homosexual movement new, Genesis chapter nineteen shows how Sodom was so filled with homosexuals that the entire city wanted to rape the two angels who visited Lot. Even when the angels blinded the men trying to break into the house to get them, the Sodomites still kept groping for the door.

Prostitution has always been around since Adam and Eve got booted out of the garden. You can also read about bigamy, bestiality, incest,  and other sexual sins in the Old Testament.

First-century Corinth was much like our society today with it's immoral attitudes. Worse yet, the church in that city was like many North American churches today. From women's liberation to drunkenness, they had it all. Reading Paul's letter to the Corinthians is like reading a modern indictment of our churches.

Another truth which hasn't changed through the millennia is who will be in heaven. This is why I'm writing a book called You Think You're Going to Heaven? People need to know what God's criteria is for them to be with him forever. Lord willing, I hope to have the book done soon.

REFUTATION BY DENIGRATION

In October, the local library liquidated their collection of cassette books and gave them all to me. As I sifted through the stack, I found a book called Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays by Stephen Hawking. Being interested in science, I listened to the whole book. As I played one tape, I heard how Hawking had suffered what he called "refutation by denigration" as a result of his theory that black holes emitted particles and eventually vanished. Instead of basing their criticism on flaws they discovered in the theory, Hawkings' detractors used insults to discredit his work.

This happens far too often in the political world, particularly from socialists. Conservative leaders, for example  have been labeled as racists for wishing to get rid of affirmative action programs. Many of President Obama's opponents have also been accused of racism simply for finding fault with his policies.

Canada isn't immune to refutation by denigration  either. The Wildrose Alliance Party formed in 2008 to oppose the wasteful spending and high living of the Progressive Conservatives. The party was immediately  tarred with the epithet "upstart" and was often labeled as "right wing extremist" by many political commentators. Instead of examining Wildrose's fiscal and social policies at their face value, the media editors prejudged the intent of the policies and impugned the reputations of the Wildrose leadership.

Sadly, this happens to evangelical Christians as well. A small group of vocal atheists have written hateful books which make irrational claims about God and his followers.

Likewise, any professor doubting global warming, now called climate change, have been censured and discredited.

Additionally, those believers who oppose abortion are automatically tarred with the epithet "deniers of women's rights" simply for proposing that life begins at conception. No matter what scientific studies have found regarding fetal pain and the development of the baby in the womb, these vocal opponents continue to call Christians derogatory names. Detractors seem unwilling and unable to examine anti-abortion arguments dispassionately.

People who oppose homosexual and lesbian behaviour as being abnormal also come under fire by a small band of activists. Though Scripture makes it clear that the activities of these people is perversion, adherents of Christianity are charged by Jesus Christ to love sinners. Opponents often point to the Old Testament injunctions of the death penalty for breakers of God's commands without realizing those were for the time when Israel was a theocracy. The Lord gave the commandments because of the weakness of the Israelites toward copying the wicked deeds of other nations. Now that Christ has shown God's compassionate wish to save all who would believe in him, his followers are compelled to love sinners but oppose their sinful and self-destructive ways.

While it might be a human trait to call people names and attach negative attributes to others, it still is inexcusable. For many years, elders in a house church accused me of lacking faith to be healed of poor eyesight, harboring sin, lusting for sight, and having ancestral sins that blocked my healing. I found out later that my detractors were wrong. What a relief that was, and still is, to me.
