Will God Help Doctors Find a COVID-19 Vaccine?

The Bible doesn't say anything either pro or con about doctors discovering cures. Even so, we can find instances where God prescribed treatments for diseases in Scripture.

One of these prescriptions was for leprosy. Leviticus 13:1-3 (BBE) starts the whole chapter on treating diseases of the skin. "And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 'If a man has on his skin a growth or a mark or a white place, and it becomes the disease of a leper, let him be taken to Aaron the priest, or to one of the priests, his sons; And if, when the priest sees the mark on his skin, the hair on the place is turned white and the mark seems to go deeper than the skin, it is the mark of a leper: and the priest, after looking at him, will say that he is unclean.'"

This is why Jesus said what he said to ten lepers in Luke 17:12-14 (BBE). "And when he went into a certain small town he came across ten men who were lepers, and they, keeping themselves at a distance, Said, in loud voices, 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.' And when he saw them he said, 'Go, and let the priests see you.' And, while they were going, they were made clean."

We're blessed these days with wonderful medical people. Even so, they still can't cure the common cold. COVID-19 is proving to be a particularly tough puzzle to solve.

Since this is so, we should take ailments such as these to the Lord like a certain woman did in Mark 5:25-27 (BBE). "And a woman, who had December 20, 2017had a flow of blood for twelve years, And had undergone much at the hands of a number of medical men, and had given all she had, and was no better, but even worse, When she had news of the things which Jesus did, went among the people coming after him, and put her hand on his robe."

We must also pray for others as this example in Genesis 20:17 (BBE) shows us. "Then Abraham made prayer to God, and God made Abimelech well again, and his wife and his women-servants, so that they had children."

So we can see that there are diseases we can't cure but we can always turn to our Lord and Master for help. Often times, he'll reply positively to our requests which are within his will. I'm sure that praying for a COVID-19 vaccine isn't wrong.

Provided Christ doesn't return by Saturday, and I hope he does, I'll post about self defence and a song by a Swiss rock band.
