Thanks to my Kiwi friend, Maggie Rush, I know the perfect song to suit my blog. This is about disabled people and how normal children and adults mistreat them. Listen to this plea for tolerance here:
Holy Scripture certainly advocates for treating disabled folks with kindness. Leviticus 19:14 (Bible in Basic English) is but one example. "Do not put a curse on those who have no hearing, or put a cause of falling in the way of the blind, but keep the fear of your God before you: I am the Lord."
Another reason for being kind to disabled folks is in Exodus 4:11 (BBE). Moses didn't believe he was eloquent but God disagreed. "And the Lord said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? who takes away a man's voice or hearing, or makes him seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?'" It's the Lord who decides what faculties we have or lack.
Inconsiderate and immature folks figure it's great fun to pull pranks on disabled people. But Deuteronomy 27:18 (BBE) admonishes, "Cursed is he by whom the blind are turned out of the way. And let all the people say, 'So be it.'"
Job 29:15 (BBE) models how able-bodied folks should act. "I was eyes to the blind, and feet to him who had no power of walking."
We, whom the Father has given the burden of disability, were mistreated throughout history. Mark 10:47 and 48 (BBE) shows how the public had contempt for one blind man. "And when it came to his ears that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he gave a cry, and said, 'Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.' And some of them, turning in protest, gave him an order to be quiet: but he went on crying out all the more, 'Son of David, have mercy on me.'" Jesus did and the man saw.
Luke 14:12-14 (BBE) demonstrates Christ's care and concern for the disadvantaged. "And he said to the master of the house, 'When you give a feast, do not send for your friends and your brothers and your family or your neighbours who have wealth, for they may give a feast for you, and so you will get a reward. But when you give a feast, send for the poor and the blind and those who are broken in body: And you will have a blessing, because they will not be able to give you any payment, and you will get your reward when the upright come back from the dead.'"
If he who will bring our eternal reward hasn't come by Monday, I hope to post about God's persistence in the lives of sinners.

The John 9:2 Error
This is one mistake which ignorant people make when they meet a disabled person or somebody who suffered a misfortune. They automatically assume that God must be punishing that person for sinning or for the sins of the parents. People I respected were especially cruel in their condemnation of me for not being healed when they laid hands on me.
Christ's disciples ask if a blind man sins were the cause of his being born that way or if his parent's sins caused it. John 9:3 (BBE) gives the real answer to their question. "Jesus said in answer, 'It was not because of his sin, or because of his father's or mother's; it was so that the works of God might be seen openly in him.'"

What these cruel folks who blame disabled people don't realize is that God made some of us with less-than-perfect senses. Exodus 4:11 (KJV) shows that truth well. "And the LORD said unto him (Moses), 'Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?'"
Because of the endless cruelty of certain house church leaders, I turned my back on God for nine years. I finally realized that God wasn't at fault for my poor sight and lack of healing. It was the lies I was taught by that bogus church's leadership.
I wonder what they would have made of Leviticus 19:14 (KJV) if I had quoted it to them. "Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD."
The fear of God certainly isn't in the hearts of many professing Christians. That's why I'm writing my next book called You Think You're Going to Heaven? Many who claim to believe in God haven't surrendered to Christ and are headed to hell. May the Lord use my book to turn folks from that horrific place.
I'll be writing next time about a mistake I made more than forty years ago and how it eventually lost me a lot of money.

Can You Have Your Own World View?
I wrote earlier about people bashing Christians for being hypocrites as well as picking and choosing which verses of the Bible they believe. These people who claim such things assume that they have an entirely different world view than evangelicals.
Is this really so? Ask any of these people if lying, stealing, and dealing falsely is wrong and they'll most likely agree. Homosexuals object to what God spoke in Leviticus chapter eighteen but they ignore the next chapter. Leviticus 19:11 (KJV) states, "Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another." If these folks think we pick and choose, they are actually the ones doing so.
And what about giving to the poor? These anti-Christian people fault believers for being unloving but look at what Leviticus 19:9 commands. "And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God." I'm sure many folks, including Christians, don't know that's in the Bible.
Leftists object to workers being mistreated but what does Leviticus 19:13 say? "Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning." In those days, people had no bank accounts or received unemployment payments so they needed to be paid daily in order to survive.
Additionally, what about being kind to disabled people? Leviticus 19:14 states, "Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD."

The fact is that everybody is shaped by the society they grew up in. In the west, it's the Christian ethos which has shaped our thinking. This is why we don't have a cast system as India does. Neither do we have classes of infidels as Islamic societies do. Western women aren't chattel either but are equals with men. Many of the folks who condemn Christianity hold to its morals. Isn't it hypocritical then to condemn the very religion which gives them so many benefits?
I'll be covering this topic in my next book called You Think You're Going to Heaven? Millions of people assume that all religions lead to God but they're wrong. I hope my book shows them why and convinces them to change their minds.
