Saturday Song: Gary Glitter, Rock 'n' Roll Part 1 & 2

I don't know about you but this song brings back memories of enrolling in high school. I felt so grown up as I began taking my classes and carrying a real ID card.

Listen to this song here.

At that time, I began living on my own. Though my parents paid my rent, it was the first time I had the freedom and unsupervised responsibility of my own room. I learned how to cook that autumn as well. I only depended on Mom to wash my laundry. That was because she made it seem so complex that I let her do it. I learned how easy it actually was a few years later.

This reminds me of what the apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:11 (KJV). "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

We all must grow in our spiritual lives or we ought to be growing in grace and wisdom. There are some folks who enjoy the primary tenets of Christianity so much that they don't want to graduate to the next level.

That's one reason I feel disappointed with most Sunday Services. I only hear things I already know and have studied for decades. It's like a perpetual kindergarten. Like John MacArthur, I want to delve deeply into each verse to wring out every last drop of its truth.

So, what was high school like for you? Does this song evoke good memories or bad? Please let me know in the box below. And if you don't feel so inclined, have a good weekend anyway.
