No Other Mediator but Jesus

I touched on the subject of Mary not being the mediatrix in my previous post. This is because only Christ can mediate between sinners and our holy God. Worshipping and praying to anybody else, including saints, is therefore blasphemy.

We can see that the whole plan of God was to save fallen humanity through the sacrifice of his innocent son. Paul explained in Galatians 3:19 (KJV) that the law Moses gave was only a stopgap measure. "Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator."

That mediator is pointed out in Genesis 3:15. "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

We can tell from subsequent verses that Eve believed she would bear the son, not daughter, who would be the deliverer. Genesis 4:1 (KJV) says, "And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, 'I have gotten a man from the LORD.'"

The Messiah was always understood to be male, not female. The Samaritan woman Christ met knew this too. John 4:25 (KJV) reads, "The woman saith unto him, 'I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.'"

In the very next verse, John wrote,  "Jesus saith unto her, 'I that speak unto thee am he.'" Christ meant that he was the one to whom we must turn to for forgiveness. But, as I posted before, we pray directly to the Father.

I wish people, especially Catholics, would take Mary's advice which she gave the servants at a wedding feast. John 2:5 (KJV) reads, "His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." What a change it would make in all churches if people obeyed Christ's commandments and teachings.

I hope to publish a book soon called You Think You're Going to Heaven? Far too many confessing Christians read and hear what their Lord said and then don't apply his sayings to their lives. Many will find themselves on his left side at Judgement Day and be sentenced to eternal torment in hell.
